The relationship between Walter and Phyllis is like bonnie and Clyde they are doing this horrible thing by killing Phyllis’s husband. The dynamics of this section if the book is that, the insurance company is doing every thing in their power and how they are trying not to pay Phyllis. Walter is hearing everything that they are trying to do to find out about the curious accident of the misfortune of the husband.
The emotions of Walter change for Phyllis since she freaked out on him after they dropped off the body. Walter was deeply in love with her and then they didn’t talk or communicating for a while Walters feeling for her have changed but then they came back when she called him on the phone. They are discussing how they can get away with the murder, Phyllis wasn’t going to sue but then that would look bad for them. Keyes was talking to Walter and he told Walter how he and Phyllis killed him right to the tee. He started to have a nervous breakdown in Keyes office but he put an act on and kept his cool.
The Characteristics of film noir is that the insurance company is the detectives and they are trying to catch one of their own and they don’t even know. Walter is trying his hardest not to fall to the threats that they are going after Phyllis for. Film Noir is dark and a bunch of secrets going on, the main characters have double lives that they have to put on the back burner during the day
Yeah I totally agree what you had to say except the part that I don't belive that Mr. Huff was as much nervous as it was the aniety that Keyes could discribe in perfect detail how they got away with the murder. It makes me think that may be keyes has thought of commiting the same crime before and he knew exactly what precautions to take to get away with the perfect crime.I think Walter was nervous because keyes had already pictured what has already occured.
ReplyDeleteI feel what you have posted is true, as you haved posted in your own words. When i read the second section i did see that, i could understand what you haved said. Walter is trying to keep his cool after all he recieved fromed Keyes and the others. I believe he see's what phyllis made him do, yet when they talk or see each other, the noir love plays in and Mr. Huff falls in line. Good job in your description, it let me see the second section in a different way from a different view piont. Good work on that last sentence, i am a hundred percent with you on Keyes having a picture.
ReplyDeleteI love how you started off with the whole “Bonnie and Clyde” comparison. To be honest, that’s the reason why I read your entire entry in the first place. You pretty much summed up the basics of their real relationship; a relationship only built up from murder and money.
ReplyDeleteBut I completely agree with "bigdadday" [<--- amusing username by the way]. The way Keyes described his predictions were so on point that you would swear that he probably had come up with it before or at least something similar. It was TOO on point actually. That’s why [if you hadn’t read my blog] I thought Keyes was the actual one behind the whole operation. & I think that’s why Huff was so nervous, and I also don’t think he showed his nerves too much. Maybe because he was pretty much quiet the whole time during that section in the novel, but who knows.
